After teaching a small private college for sixteen years, I chose to fold 'em in December 2021. There were wheels within wheels in that decision, but it was brewing for at least five years, and one might say that it really began when my first child was born. I wrote this week about how the academic mindset often sees children as obstacles or barriers to productivity.
